What will the energy supply of the future look like?
The supply changes. Almost all the energy we will use in the future will have to be provided electrically. Electricity will play a central role in the future system.
Up to now, we have heated mainly by burning gas or oil and we have run our vehicles by burning petrol. In the future, electricity must be converted into heat and also power our cars. The direct conversion of electricity, for example into heat by heat pumps, is also more efficient than obtaining energy through combustion processes.
In most forecasts, future energy requirements will continue to rise despite all the efficiency and savings measures. On the one hand, because heat pumps are used for heating and cooling. On the other hand, because the population is constantly growing.
The technologies for energy system transformation are available and based on green methanol: Silent-Power has developed them.
- Liquid methanol is synthesised from CO2, water and ecologically generated electricity – a chemically produced energy source that can be easily stored and transported.
- The specially developed Econimo mini power plants convert the stored energy decentrally, close to the consumer, into electricity as well as hot and cold water.
- By means of a multiple patented energy converter – as an alternative to the fuel cell – cars, emergency power generators, electric lawnmowers, trucks, ships or construction machinery can also be powered in the future.
- By converting it into electrical and thermal energy, methanol is broken down again into its non-toxic components CO2 and water and returned to the environment.
