Frequent Questions

How can renewable energy be stored in the long term?

The best way to store renewable energy as effectively as possible is to convert electrical energy into gas or liquid. This is based on Power-to-X technologies (PtX).

PtX is a collective term for «power-to-gas», in which electricity is converted into gas (hydrogen, methane), or for «power-to-liquid»; in this process, electricity is converted into liquid energy carriers, i.e. into fuels such as diesel, paraffin or even alcohols such as methanol.
